B-Girl Ayumi - Japan - qualified

BUDAPEST - Comments from B-Girl Ayumi of Japan after losing 2-1 to B-Girl Ami of Japan 2-1 to finish second at the OQS Budapest Breaking competition on Sunday. B-Girl Ayumi also qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She finished with a joint-top score of 95 in the overall standings alongside B-Girl Ami.

“I got some presents from my federation and we had a little birthday party. I was really happy.”

*On her spot in Paris making for a timely birthday gift:*

“Oh, yes, that’s true. I didn’t think about that, but yes, it’s a good birthday present for me.”

*On her journey to Paris 2024:*

“It was really hard for me, but also, I feel like I’m challenging new things, so I was excited also. I’m happy with how I did.

“Everybody asked me about Paris, but I only think about OQS. Now, it’s time to think about Paris for myself. I don’t know what it will be like, but I’m excited.”
