B-Boy Amir - Kazakhstan - qualified
On fighting hard to earn qualification:
“I don’t really prepare for battles. I practise every day and that’s why I’m always ready. Competition is not the main goal. The main goal is dancing, that’s why I'm always ready.”
On being at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games:
“I’m moving to Paris. I like France. I like movies from France, music from France. With or without the Olympics, I’m happy to go to Paris. I already moved, just now.
“It’s special, of course. It’s the first time breaking will be at the Games. It’s interesting, the organisation and everything. For me, breaking is first about art. I have an art approach to breaking. For me, the main goal of competition, when I participate, is to show art on this big sport platform. It’s not easy. When you make art, you try to go deep. But when you go deep, it’s not easy to understand. But in competition, you need to dance so judges and people understand you. I have a totally different approach, that’s why it’s not easy.”
