Live streaming, Asian Indoor Athletics Championships 2024: Tajinderpal Singh Toor, Jyothi Yarraji to lead Indian team in Tehran - full schedule

Tajinderpal Singh Toor, an Asian record holder in men’s shot put, along with India’s top hurdler Jyothi Yarraji, will lead a 15-member Indian squad at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships 2024 in Tehran, Iran beginning on Friday.

The Asian Indoor Athletics Championships, running since 2004, is a biennial competition organised by the Asian Athletics Association. The 2024 edition, to be held in Tehran’s Aftab e Enghelab Sports Complex, will be the 11th edition.

India have sent eight female and seven male athletes to Tehran. The Asian Indoor Athletics Championships 2024 will be live streamed in India.

Asian Games champion Tajinderpal Singh Toor won India’s only gold medal at the Asian Indoor Championships last year.

Jyothi Yarraji, meanwhile, is the reigning Asian outdoor champion in the 100m hurdles. She finished second in the 60m hurdles at the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships last year with a national record.

The Indian athletics squad to Tehran also includes runners Harmilan Bains and Ajay Kumar Saroj. Harmilan Bains claimed silver medals in the women’s 800m and 1500m at the Asian Games.

However, Bains will only compete in the 1500m race in Tehran. Saroj, an Asian Games silver medallist, will compete in the men’s 1500m.

Shaili Singh, a silver medallist at the 2021 U20 World Athletics Championships in the women’s long jump, is also in the fray. Asian Games 10,000m bronze medallist Gulveer Singh will compete in the men’s 3000m event at the Tehran meet.

India’s 25-member contingent for last year’s Asian Indoor Athletics Championships in Astana returned with eight medals - one gold, six silvers and one bronze.

Pavithra Venkatesh, who claimed silver in the women’s pole vault event last year, is also in the Indian squad.

Live streaming of the Asian Indoor Athletics Championships 2024 will be available on livekadeh.com. Only the men's events will be broadcast. There will be no live telecast of the event on any TV channel in India.
