An eight-member Indian squad won five medals - two gold, one silver and two bronze - at Asian Games 2023 squash tournaments in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China.
Squash at the Asian Games 2023 was hosted at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Squash Court. The squash events ran from September 26 and October 5. Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Sandhu won a gold in the mixed doubles event, while India also picked up a gold in the men's team event after beating rivals Pakistan in the final.
Saurav Ghosal, who won the silver medal in men's singles at Incheon 2014 also won a silver in Hangzhou. The 15-year-old Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh, in mixed doubles, and the women's team accounted for the two bronze medals.
Joshna Chinappa, a bronze medallist from Jakarta 2018, led India’s charge in the women’s singles event at the Asian Games 2023 but was knocked out early.
So far, Indian squash players have won 18 medals - three gold, four silvers and 11 bronze - at the continental meet.

The women’s and men’s singles events at the Asian Games 2023 followed a straightforward knockout format.

Meanwhile, the men’s team event involved 12 teams divided into two groups - Pool A and Pool B. The teams in each group played each other once and the top two teams made the semi-finals. India were drawn in Pool A with Qatar, Pakistan, Kuwait, Singapore and Nepal.
