Lee Zii Jia has powered his way into the last 16 at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou.

The Malaysian badminton star trounced Mourinho Zefi Costa Gusmao De Jesus on Tuesday (3 October) 21-0, 21-7 and showed flashes of brilliance in this brief encounter.

After a hard-fought 15-21, 21-15, 21-16 come-from-behind victory against Ng Ka Long Angus in his opening match, the 25-year-old had zero trouble seeing off his opponent from Timor Leste who had a bye in the first round.

Next up for Lee is the winner of the match between world champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn (Thailand) who beat Hai Dang Nguyen (Vietnam) 17-21, 21-18, 21-15.
