Tennis star Andy Murray has officially been reunited with his missing wedding ring and tennis shoes.

The two-time Olympic tennis champion yesterday posted a video on social media appealing for help after he found his tennis trainers - and wedding ring - had gone missing from the California desert, ahead of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

Murray explained that after leaving his damp tennis shoes all day in a hot car, he decided to put them underneath the vehicle to dry overnight. When he arrived in the morning to collect them, the shoes were nowhere to be seen.

Later, thanks to a prompt from his physio, the former number one realised the situation was much worse than originally appeared after recalling that, attached to the laces of his shoes, was his wedding band.

All, however, was not in fact lost.

After a series of calls, and chats with hotel security, the three-time Grand Slam winner revealed that his missing items had been found:

"A little update for everyone... Would you believe it? They still absolutely stink, but the shoes are back. The wedding ring is back. I'm back in the good books," shared the Briton shared in a video message.
