In year of Asian Games, focus on senior national women’s kabaddi 2023 from March 23

The 69th edition of the kabaddi nationals will be held in Mahendergarh, Haryana. Himachal Pradesh are the defending champions.

The National Women’s Kabaddi Championship 2023 will be held at Shri Krishna Group of Institutions in Mahendergarh, Haryana, from March 23 to 26, the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI) announced on Tuesday. 

The kabaddi competition in Mahendergarh will be the 69th edition of the tournament. It will be organised by the AKFI in association with Amateur Kabaddi Association Haryana. 

More importantly, the national women’s kabaddi championship 2023 will present players an opportunity to impress the selectors ahead of the Asian Games scheduled later this year.

At the last edition held in 2022, 29 teams, pooled into eight groups, took part in the competition. Himachal Pradesh beat Indian Railways 33-31 in the final to win the trophy in Charkhi Dadri, Haryana. 

Haryana were eliminated in the semi-finals after losing to Himachal Pradesh by a 35-32 margin while Indian Railways dominated Rajasthan to win the other semi-finals 41-17.
