With Olympic champions like Tom Daley and Jack Laugher leading up-and-coming stars like Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix Great Britain have assembled an exciting and well-balanced diving team for the Doha 2024 World Aquatics Championships.
That said, victory is anything but assured.
The People’s Republic of China squad features six Olympic champions, and Brits will need to call upon all of their collective experience in order to overcome a talented field in the Qatari capital.
It isn't just titles that are up for grabs. Team GB will also be focussed on securing Olympic quotas in three events in order to make sure that they have representation in each diving competition at the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
Below, we take a closer look at the top British divers to keep an eye out for at the Hamad Aquatic Centre.
Tom Daley back in action
Team GB's first priority in Doha will be to secure Olympic spots in the men’s 10m synchro, women’s 3m springboard, and men’s 3m springboard.
Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion Tom Daley will line up alongside Noah Williams in the men’s 10m synchro, and he will be confident of securing an opportunity to defend his Olympic title in Paris.
Competition for places in this team was particularly high for this event, with Daley's Olympic gold medal-winning partner Matty Lee securing Commonwealth Games gold alongside Williams in 2022, while Daley was taking a break from the sport.
The team composition could change again depending how things go in Doha, but whichever combination GB decide upon, they can guarantee a world-class pairing.
Williams will also compete in the men's individual 10m platform event.
Jack Laugher leads springboard team
Jack Laugher has experienced a roller-coaster of emotions ever since winning the men's 3m springboard synchro Olympic title with Chris Mears, as well as individual silver, at Rio 2016.
After mental health struggles and some disappointing results, the Harrogate man roared back to form with three-consecutive synchro World silvers in 2019, 2022, and 2023, and Olympic bronze in the individual event at Tokyo 2020.
That period also included Commonwealth Games gold alongside Anthony Harding - with whom he will dive again in Doha.
European champion on the 1m board, Ross Haslam, will join Laugher as GB's representatives in the individual 3m springboard.
Elsewhere in the springboard events, 2023 World Championships silver medallists Scarlett Mew Jensen and Yasmin Harper will be hopeful of going one better this year in the women's 3m synchro.
Harper will also contest the individual event, having won continental bronze in 2022.
Joining her will be Grace Reid, a two-time mixed synchro world championships medallist, and 2018 individual European champion.
Can Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix win a first World title?
Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix and Louis Toulson will line up in both the women's 10m synchro and individual events.
The duo already have an impressive synchro resume, having won the European title in 2022 before sealing silver in the 2023 Worlds.
There will be a particularly large spotlight on individual European and Commonwealth champion Spendolini-Sirieix, now 19, who broke the British record in the women's 10m platform at the British National Diving Cup last year.
Finally, Dan Goodfellow and Matty Lee will contest the team event.
Versatile Goodfellow knows how to perform under pressure, having won Olympic bronze alongside Daley in the 10m synchro at Rio 2016 and 3m synchro silver at the 2019 Worlds with Laugher, before taking individual springboard gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Olympic gold medallist Lee, meanwhile, will be looking to put his best-foot forward as the platform diver on the team.
