After a long season, which included three world Cup competitions and the Olympic Games Paris 2024, 32 of the world's best archers will take aim at the final title up for grabs in archery during the 2024 World Archery World Cup Final from 19-20 October in Tlaxcala de Xicohténcatl, Mexico.
Archers will need to tune out the stunning architecture surrounding the competition venue and focus-in on their shooting to have a shot at becoming the next world cup champion.
A mere eight archers per gender received an invitation to compete in the recurve or compound events, making the event an elite selection of the world's best archers. Athletes earned entry to the World Cup final by winning one of the three previous stages of the World Cup this season, winning the individual recurve events at Paris 2024, or ranking high enough in the World Cup rankings to make the elite selection of eight archers after the first two criteria were applied.
As the host nation of the World Cup final, Mexico was also entitled to a wildcard entry in each event provided they did not exceed the limit of two archers per nation. Therefore, Mexico will be the most represented country with a total of six archers, including Alejandra Valencia and Ángela Ruiz, bronze medallists in the women's recurve event at Paris 2024.
In total, nine of the 16 archers competing in the recurve events at the World Cup final were medallists at Paris 2024, making the final competition of the season a mouthwatering encore to the Olympic Games.

Archers to watch at the 2024 Archery World Cup Final
Lim Sihyeon of the Republic of Korea enters the world cup final as the woman to beat in the women's recurve event.
The 21-year-old from Gangneung took the Olympic Games Paris 2024 by storm, winning a remarkable three gold medals across individual, team and mixed-team events in the City of Lights. With a further two world cup victories to her name this season, dropping any points against Korea's archery ace may mean early elimination for archers in Tlaxcala de Xicohténcatl.
Nonetheless, home favourite Alejandra Valencia, ranked third in the world, will be eager to challenge the Olympic champion.
The 29-year-old archer from Sonora is a double Olympic medallist - bronze in the mixed team event at Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and bronze in the women's team event at Paris 2024 - and will make her eighth appearance at the world cup final.
While she's yet to win the world cup final, the support of the home crowd might be enough to will her past the other seven archers.
Mexico's Andrea Becerra will also look to make the most of home support in the women's compound event, where she'll face eight-time world cup final winner Sara López of Colombia.
Lopez, a legend of the sport, will face a stiff challenge from world number one Becerra, who enters the competition as the archer with the hottest form this season, along with 2022 Asian Games champion Jyothi Surekha Vennam and the 2022 World Games champion Ella Gibson, who have both proved they can find the ten-ring at major events.
The men's categories are set to be equally entertaining with an Olympic champion and three-time world cup final winner each attempting to reclaim titles in the recurve and compound events.
Kim Woojin, who won a thrilling gold medal match against Team USA's Brady Ellison at Paris 2024, enters the competition as the prohibited favourite in the recurve event. However, there will be no prospect of an Olympic re-match against Ellison, who failed to qualify for the world cup final for the first time since 2010.
Of course, the world cup final won't be a stroll in the park for Kim, who will still need to out-shoot teammate Lee Woo Seok, bronze medalist at Paris 2024, and Brazil's Marcus D'Almeida, defending world cup final champion.
The Netherlands' Mike Schloesser, a three-time world cup final winner, will also need to overcome seven talented archers to reclaim the title won by Denmark's Mathias Fullerton in the compound event last year.
The pair have ruled over the compound event at the world cup final since 2018. Schloesser has won all four of their world cup encounters to date, meaning Fullerton will be eager to hand him a memorable loss in Tlaxcala de Xicohténcatl.
Of course, surprises are always possible, and Team USA's Sawyer Sullivan, already a world cup stage winner this season, will hope to flip the script on the pair during the last competition of the season.
