The 2023 Asian Gymnastics Championships are set to take centre stage in Singapore from 15-18 June.

The event is a qualifier for September’s World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, the main artistic gymnastics Paris 2024 qualifying event, in Antwerp, Belgium.

China and Japan’s men’s and women’s teams have already qualified for the World Champs along with South Korea’s men by virtue of their performances at the 2022 Worlds in Liverpool, England.

The 2023 Asian Champs will see the international debut of Tokyo 2020 U.S. alternate Emma Malabuyo for the Philippines. She’ll be competing with fellow American Aleah Finnegan.

The women’s field also includes eight-time Olympian Oksana Chusovitina of Uzbekistan and Olympic vault bronze medallist Yeo Seojeong.

Six-time world medallist Carlos Yulo of the Philippines highlights the men’s field. Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Lee Chih-kai of Chinese Taipei and World pommel horse silver medallist Ahmad Abu Al-Soud of Jordan are also in the field.

The top two men’s and women’s teams will qualify to Antwerp, along with eight individual women and six individual men.
