Australia is home to rich Indigenous cultures dating back over 65,000 years, and we are proud to provide a platform for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to share their story, history and traditions with the world.
The Olympic and Paralympic Games Brisbane 2032 is our time to celebrate First Nations culture, foster participation, and create meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander athletes, young people and their communities.
Brisbane 2032 will create a safe, inclusive platform for social change – because everyone deserves the freedom to be at their best. Following a Human Rights Framework, the Games will promote fairness, inclusion and non-discrimination, improving the awareness, engagement and participation of vulnerable and marginalised groups.
The Olympic and Paralympic Games Brisbane 2032 aims to be the most accessible in history.
It’s important to us as around 25% of Australians living with a disability play sport. And 20% of Australians have a disability. These statistics are reflected in other countries around the world.
Sport plays a crucial role in social inclusion – and we’re committed to celebrating equality and access across all aspects of the Games. From universal design delivering a new level of accessibility at our venues, to inclusive programs and initiatives for people living with disabilities.
The Games will help accelerate the changes needed to ensure that everyone enjoys the same rights, access and opportunities.
So everyone can participate, cheer, and celebrate together.
The Olympic and Paralympic Games Brisbane 2032 aims will be developed with sustainability in mind.
We’re developing a Games Master Plan that responds to today’s challenges, and innovates the way we do things for a healthier planet.
We’re committed to minimising direct and indirect Games-related carbon emissions, and aim to remove more carbon from the atmosphere than what the project emits.
Sport can be a driving force for incredible change, and we will use the influence of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to encourage stakeholders to take climate action.
The Games are bigger than the athletes who stand on the podium or the nations that top the medal tally, and the impact will be felt long after the closing ceremony.
Brisbane 2032 is our opportunity to create lasting benefits for our communities, environment and economy. Not just in Queensland, but communities throughout Australia and beyond.
The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Legacy Strategy, Elevate 2042, represents a shared 20-year vision for a lasting Games legacy – and a brighter future for all.
