Biography

Bill Bakke was US Ski Jumping Champion in 1970. He trained in the summer by cycling and became a top masters cyclist. Bakke later coached ski jumping, becoming an assistant coach for the US team, and later was the coach of the Canadian national team in the late 1970s. Bakke settled in Calgary, where he became the venue manager at Canadian Olympic Park, the ski jump and bobsled complex that had been built for the 1988 Winter Olympics.
