Biography

Breaking free from a famous last name can be daunting, but Trinity Rodman - the daughter of five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman - is carving out her own legacy in the world of women's football.

Born in Newport Beach, California, Rodman was picked second overall by Washington Spirit in the 2021 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) Draft. At 18, she was the youngest player ever to be drafted.

Rodman made an immediate impact, becoming the youngest player to score on debut in the NWSL. In that first season, she helped the Spirit to third in the regular season and then ultimate glory in the playoffs as they secured a first league title. Rodman received NWSL Rookie of the Year and US Soccer Young Female Player of the Year awards.

The football prodigy had already made herself known internationally, scoring twice as USA defeated Mexico 4-1 in the final of the 2020 CONCACAF U20 Women's Championship. Rodman made her senior USWNT debut in the 2022 SheBelieves Cup, and was part of the squad which went down to Sweden on penalties in the last 16 at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
