Biography

Simone Osygus was a freestyle sprinter. She had her best performances at the European Championships where she earned four golds, three silvers and one bronze medal between 1991 and 1997. She also won two silver medals at the World Championships in 1991 and 1998. All her Olympic medals came in relays, winning silver in the 1992 medley relay and the 1996 4×200 free relay, and bronzes in the 1992 and 1996 4×100 freestyle relay. After her active career Osygus managed the Bundesliga volleyball club SV Bayer Wuppertal.
