Biography

Sergey Chetverukhin was the best Soviet singles skater in the late 1960s and early 70s, although he never won an international title. Chetverukhin was a Soviet champion five times (1968-71, 1973) and took part in every World and European Championships from 1965-73, winning two silvers (1972, 1973) and one bronze (1971) in the World Championships and three silvers (1971-73) and one bronze (1969) at the European Championships. Chetverukhin also took part in the 1968 Olympics, where he was ninth and 1972 Olympics, where he won silver, and he also won two silvers (1966, 1970) at the Winter Universiade. After his competitive career Chetverukhin worked as a figure skating coach. Since 1990 Chetverukhin has lived in Canada, after being invited by Don Jackson. At first he worked as a figure skating coach in Montréal and he now lives and works in Toronto.
