Bob McFarlane ran for Canada at the 1948 Olympics. In college at the University of Western Ontario (London), he was a star running back for the Mustangs from 1946-50. In 1978 he was named Western's Athlete of the Century. After college, McFarlane attended medical school at UWO and became a renowned plastic surgeon, specializing in hand surgery, and serving as chief of surgery at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario.
