Biography

The highlight of Dick Ault’s intermediate hurdling career came on 31 August 1949 at the famed Bislett Stadium in Oslo, when he set a 440 yard hurdle world record of 52.2 – although it was far inferior to the metric record. He ran for the University of Missouri and had a second place finish in the intermediates at the 1949 AAU. Ault became a professor of physical education at Westminister College and also coached track, cross-country, swimming, and golf at that school. He was elected a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame.

Personal Best: 440y – 48.4 (1949); 110H – 15.2 (1949); 400H – 51.4 (1949).
