Ramón Sandoval had the following podium finishes at major championships: 3rd in the 1955 Pan American Games 800 metres. At the 1959 Pan American Games 1500 metres he finished fourth.

Personal Bests: 800 – 1:49.0 (1956); 1500 – 3:47.5 (1958).
