Biography

The French featherweight champion in 1907, Pierre Mazior stepped up a division to fight at bantamweight in the 1908 London Olympics. A fighter with excellent footwork, he was the lightest member of the French squad, and was the only non-Briton in the bantamweight competition, despite being more of an expert in the French style of boxing (as opposed to the British style). Mazior went on to win a second French title in 1912, when he won the bantamweight crown.
