Biography

David Tarsey made his international début for England as a teenager in the platform event at the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Canada. As British champion he was chosen for the Melbourne Olympics in both diving events but failed to reach either final. Tarsey’s finest moment came at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games where he won a bronze medal on the springboard. He did not qualify for the Rome Olympic and opted to pursue a career in engineering. After nearly 40 years of running his company he sold up in the late 1990s and retired to a villa in a small town near Benidorm on the east coast of Spain. At the end of March 2015 the bodies of Tarsey and his wife were found at their home. They each had been killed by a single bullet. Police believed that they had been shot dead during a robbery.
