Biography

Otto Fickeisen, brother of Rudolf Fickeisen was a German rower who competed in the 1900 Summer Olympics. He was a rower in the German boat from Ludwigshafener Ruderverein, which won a bronze medal in the coxed fours final B. At the 1912 Stockholm Summer Olympics Otto and Rudolf Fickeisen were members of the gold medal boat in coxed fours, outriggers, again representing Ludwigshafener Ruderverein.

Together with Hermann Wilker Otto Fickeisen rowed in a coxless pair that was unbeaten in 26 races over five years, winning the German Championships from 1908-12. Fickeisen was known as the best German rower prior to World War I.
