Biography

Nándor Kovács began his sporting career as an athlete and gymnast at BBTE in 1898. He won eight Hungarian championships in hurdles. He attended three Olympic Games: in 1906 in gymnastics and athletics, and in 1908 and 1912 in athletics only. After the Stockholm Olympics, he gave up his sporting carrier and became a professional trainer for the MTK. In 1921, he got back his amateur status and started to compete again until the age of 45. His won his last Hungarian championship title in 1923, at age 43.

Personal Bests: 110H – 16.2y (1911); 400H – 63.6 (1908); LJ – 6.75 (1912).
