Biography

Nancy Simons was a student at Northwestern and also competed for the Chicago Town Club. In the 1956 Olympics she was eliminated in the semi-finals of the individual 100 m freestyle. She then joined the relay team that bettered the world record in the Olympic final, but still finished two seconds down to the Australian quartette. Although she never won an AAU title, she set a U.S. long-course record for the 400 m freestyle in 1954.
