Born in Tehran, Mohammad started taekwondo when he was 8. He quickly started to be good at his sport and was selected for the national team when he was 16 years old. His hard work quickly paid off as he won numerous medals at major championships, including a gold medal at the Asian Championship in 2009 and at the Military World Championship in 2012.
In 2018, he had no other choice but to leave his country and claimed asylum in Canada – a safer place for him to train and live.
At the moment, Mohammad works part time as a taekwondo master teaching younger athletes, and trains twice almost every day with the aim of participating in the Olympic Games Paris 2024.
