Biography

Marine Johannes started playing basketball when she was eight years old at the Pont-l'Évêque, the same French club as former NBA star Nicolas Batum. She turned professional with USO Mondeville, where she won the U17 women's French League twice in 2011 and 2012 and the U17 French Cup (2012). Her team also won the Youth French League in 2013.

Marine Johannes' double club career

Johannes has been a stellar part of two rosters, splitting her time between Lyon LLDLC Asvel Féminin, owned by former NBA French superstar Tony Parker, and the New York Liberty in the WNBA.

In 2019, she signed with both the French League winner Lyon ASVEL and with the NY Liberty, where she plays during the European off-season.

Johannes and the Liberty reached the WBNA playoffs and final in 2023, only losing to defending champions Las Vegas Aces. However, she did secured a title with the East Coast side that season, winning the third edition of the Commissioner's Cup in August 2023.
