Biography

After winning the AAU Junior 220y in 1922, Louis Clarke enrolled at Johns Hopkins and finished second in the 100y and third in the 220y at the 1923 IC4A. In February 1924, he posted a world record of 9.8 for the 100y indoors and later in the year placed third on both sprints at the IC4A. At the 1924 Olympics, Clarke was a member of the sprint relay team which set three world records. In the first round they posted a new record of 41.6, brought this down to 41.0 in the second round, and matched that time in the final.

Personal Best: 100 – 10.7e (1924).
