She was a three-time gold medalist in the team pursuit at the World Championships, helping the USA team win in 2016-18. She was a bronze medalist in individual pursuit at the 2017-18 Worlds. In 2018 Catlin was second in the USA Road Nationals in the criterium.

Catlin graduated from the University of Minnesota, where she majored in mathematics and Chinese. She then attended graduate school at Stanford, studying computational and mathematical engineering. She was also an accomplished violinist and artist.
