Biography

Kelly Blair was a multi-athlete who competed in the heptathlon at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, handing Jackie Joyner-Kersee her first defeat in heptathlon in 12 years at the US Olympic Trials. Blair also competed at the 1995 and 1997 World Championships, won a bronze medal at the 1998 Goodwill Games, and also won bronze at the 1993 World University Games. Blair attended the University of Oregon where she was the 1993 NCAA outdoor champion. She also played basketball for two years while at Oregon before focusing on the heptathlon. Blair won three US outdoor championships in the hep, consecutively in 1996-98. Blair later married Matt LaBounty, a defensive end for the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL.
