Biography

Joe Becker graduated from St. Louis University in 1955 and then joined the US Air Force, serving as a pilot, before retiring as a captain. His biggest cycling victory was winning the 1949 Elgin-to-Chicago race, although he was Florida State Champion in 1955. Becker was runner-up at the Missouri State Championships in 1950 and 1951, and was an alternate to the 1955 Pan American team. Becker continued to cycle recreationally later in life and often participated in charitable rides, supporting various causes.
