Biography

During his career, which lasted from 1981-96, Jiří Parma competed at four Olympic Games (1984, 1988, 1992, 1994) and seven World Championships (1984, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1995). Parma won a team bronze at the 1992 Winter Olympics, but was more successful at the World Championships, where he won the individual normal hill title in 1987, team silver in 1993 and team bronzes in 1984 and 1989. Parma also had three individual World Cup victories (large hill in January 1984 in Harrachov and March 1984 in Falun and normal hill in March 1985 in Örnsköldsvik) and his best overall World Cup finish was fourth in 1987-88 season. After finishing his sporting career, Parma worked as a ski jumping judge.
