Biography

Janja Garnbret quickly carved her name into climbing history, becoming the undisputed G.O.A.T in her discipline in her early 20s.

Arguing against her supremacy is as challenging as scaling a mountain without gear. From conquering World Cups to clinching the first-ever Olympic gold medal in women's sport climbing, Garnbret doesn't just lead; she soars.

Janja Garnbret's dominance and Olympic glory

Garnbret's domination of climbing competitions traces back to 2016 when, at 17, she topped the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup overall standings in the Lead discipline by securing four wins in the series that season. This was just the beginning of the Slovenian's ascent. She continued to assert her dominance, topping the World Cup in Lead in 2017, 2018, 2021, and 2022.

In 2019, Garnbret achieved an extraordinary feat, sweeping the Bouldering World Cup season by winning all six events—a historic accomplishment. She also conquered the climbing World Championship in Hachioji, Japan, claiming titles in all three categories (lead, boulder, and 3x3 format).
