Biography

Jacques Brodin was a highly successful junior épée fencer, winning world junior épée titles in 1962 and 1964-66, while finishing second at the 1963 World Junior Championships. At the senior level, he won a team épée bronze at the 1964 Olympics (together with his older brother Claude) and also competed at the 1972 Olympics, where he was sixth individually and fourth with the team. At the World Championships, he won team épée titles in 1965 and 1966, team silver in 1967 and individual épée silver in 1974. Brodin was French champion in individual épée in 1968-69, 1971-72 and 1974. By profession he was an electrician.
