Gaetan BOUCHER

After having won a silver medal in Lake Placid in 1980 Gaetan entered three events at the Olympic Games in Sarajevo.

From the library to the rink

At the Sarajevo Games in 1984 he earned a bronze medal in the 500m and then beat Sergei Khlebnikov by 83 hundredths of a second at 1,000m to gain his first gold medal. Two days later, the marketing student from Quebec went on to win double Olympic gold with another exploit in the 1,500m event.
