Biography

Fritz Hendrix was eliminated in the second round of the 200 metres at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, but won the silver medal in the 4x100 relay together with Helmut Körnig, Erich Borchmeyer and Arthur Jonath. In the sprint relay he also became German Champion in 1933 and 1934, and ran a world record in 1932. The educated merchant married his teammate Marie Dollinger in 1937 and they became the parents of top sprinter Brunhilde Hendrix. During World War II Hendrix was killed in action in 1941 on the Eastern Front near St. Petersburg and was posthumously promoted to corporal.
