Biography

François Borde was one of the best French Rugby players of his time and played for the celebrated team of Stade Toulouse, winning five French Championships (1922-24, 1926-27). Playing one of the three-quarter positions, he represented successively Lourdes, Tarbes, Racing Club de France, Toulouse and Narbonne, and returned to Toulouse as player-coach in 1928-30. The first of his 12 appearances in the French colors came in 1920, and the last in 1926. After his sports career Borde worked for the local tax authorities in Bayonne.
