Fernando Báez had the following podium finishes at major championships: 3rd in the 1970 World Championships Bantamweight class (335.0 kg); 1st in the 1967 Pan American Games Bantamweight class, 2nd in the 1971 Pan American Games Bantamweight class, 3rd in the 1975 Pan American Games Bantamweight class. He set four bantamweight press world records.
