Biography

Étienne Piquiral played lock and back-row forward for France at the 1924 Paris Olympics, winning a silver medal. He was capped 19 times for France. Piquiral played for CA Périgourdain as a youth, and then was with SA Bordeaux in 1919-20, Bordeaux Étudiant Club in 1920-21, Racing Club de France from 1921-26, and finally FC Lyonnaise in 1926-28.

Piquiral studied engineering at l’École Polytechnique, and became an engineer. During World War II he was a captain in the 248th infantry regiment. Captured by the Germans, he died of illness in captivity in Lübeck, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.
