In 1912, Erik Sökjer-Petersén, born in the small town of Hyby in Sweden’s southernmost province Skåne, took part in both individual running deer events, single and double shot. Eight years later, he made his second Olympic appearance, this time in clay pigeon shooting, winning the bronze medal with the Swedish team. Sökjer-Petersén was a trained forester and specialized in nursing deciduous forests. He also died in his native Skåne.
