Emil Kellenberger was a prolific Swiss rifle shooter at the turn of the 20th century, who won 36 international medals. At the 1900 Olympics, Kellenberger was the top rifle shooter and won gold in free rifle, three positions; silver in free rifle, kneeling; and led the Swiss team to the team free rifle, three positions gold medal. At the World Championships, Kennenberger won 13 gold medals – in 1900-03 in free rifle, three positions; in 1901 in free rifle, prone; in 1902 in free rifle, standing; in 1903 in free rifle, kneeling; in 1922 in army rifle 3x20 shots ;and in 1899-03 in team free rifle, three positions. He also won seven silver medals at World Championships. Domestically Kellenberger won the free rifle, three positions at the Swiss Championships in 1898 and was crowned as the Schützenkönig that year.
