After winning the high jump for Cambridge vs. Oxford in 1904, Edward Leader shared second place in the Oxbridge vs. Harvard/Yale match. The following year, he finished second at both the Oxbridge Sports and at the AAAs. Although he did not win a blue as a hurdler, he was chosen to represent Britain in the 110 hurdles at the 1908 Olympics. He was Called to the Bar in 1908 and practiced as a barrister.
