Biography

Carl-Olof Nylén was a Swedish tennis player at the 1912 Olympics, playing only doubles, men’s and mixed, in- and outdoors. He made the quarter-finals in doubles and mixed outdoors. Nylén was an otologist. He is best known as the man who designed the first surgical microscope used in otolaryngology. In tennis he was Swedish Champion in singles, indoors and outdoors, in 1916, and in indoors doubles in 1915-17 and 1925. In 1914 Nylén won the mixed doubles at the Baltic Championships in Malmö with Sigrid Fick.
