Biography

Björn Kircheisen was one of the most talented Nordic combined athletes from Germany, winning two silver medals at the 2002 and 2006 Winter Olympics, and the bronze medal at the 2010 Winter Olympics in the team relay and six silver medals at the World Championships (2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 – team, 2005 – individual, 2009 – sprint), also winning a 2007 bronze in the sprint. In 2003 and 2006 Kircheisen was third in both the overall World Cup and the sprint World Cup. He has also won three German titles, was runner-up once and had two third places. In his career he works with the German Police.
