Bertil Sandström won a silver medal in the individual dressage in 1920 and 1924. At Los Angeles in 1932 he initially finished in second place, but was demoted to last place for giving clicking noise signals to his horse. But since his score was allowed for the team score, Sweden still won the Olympic silver medal. In 1920 and 1924 he rode the Swedish-bred stallion Sabel, and in 1932 the mare Kreta.
