Biography

Welsh-born Arthur Griffiths was a member of the Scottish team that entered the road race at the Stockholm Olympics, and finished fourth. After finishing 90th out of 94 finishers, Griffiths was the last of the eight Scots. Probably the best result of his career was in finishing second in the famous Bath Road Club’s 100-mile handicap race in 1913. He served as the secretary of the Road Records Association of Scotland and, occasionally, acted as a timekeeper for races North of the Border.
