Biography

Arne Rustadstuen was from Lillehammer, and concentrated mostly on Nordic combined at the beginning of his career, winning at the 1929 Worlds and placing third at the 1931 World Championships. At the 1930 World Championships in Oslo he excelled as a cross-country skier, winning the 17 km race and placing second in the 50 km race. He won the 18 km race at Holmenkollen in both 1934 and 1935, and won his only national championships by winning the 18 km in 1934. He retired after the 1936 Winter Olympics and worked as a house painter in Lillehammer. He was awarded the Holmenkollen medal in 1935.
