Biography

Anthuan Maybank won a gold medal in the 4x400 relay at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics with the United States’ team. Maybank was relatively unknown but came through a few weeks later when he won the 400 metres at the prestigious Zürich Weltklasse. Maybank attended the University of Iowa, where he ran the 200 and 400 and also long jumped. In 1993 he finished second in the 400 at the NCAA Meet, and was sixth in the long jump outdoors after finishing fourth at the NCAA Indoors in the long jump. His best major international performance was second at the 1996 Grand Prix Final. Maybank later became a coach, serving as the sprint coach at the Tatnall School in Delaware. He also worked as a business and wellness consultant.
