Biography

Anja Gündler, later Anja Möllenbeck and wife of her teammate Michael Möllenbeck reached the discus final in 1996 at Atlanta and placed 11th. She also took part in three World Championships – 1993 (5th), 1999 (12th), and 2001 (8th). She also competed at the European Championships in 1998 (10th), and the European Cup the same year, where she was runner-up. At the Summer Universiade she won the bronze medal in 1993, and the silver medal in 1995. Educated as a detective superintendent, Gündler-Möllenbeck had her biggest moment when she became European Police Champion in 1998. In 1993 she was German Champion and she won several German Police Championships in the discus and shot, but she retired in 2002 after giving birth.

Personal Best: DT – 64.63 (1998).
