Few have been more successful in tennis than Andy Murray with the Scotsman becoming the first player to retain singles gold at the Olympic Games. A mainstay in the ATP Tour, he would surely have won more Slam titles had he not been unfortunate enough to play at the same time as three all-time tennis greats: Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
Murray could have been a footballer, having been scouted by Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers, but he chose to focus solely on tennis aged 15.
The British prospect claimed his first ATP Tour title at the 2006 Pacific Coast Championship in San Jose, California. Success in Slams would take far longer as he went down three times to Federer in finals - at the 2008 US Open, the 2010 Australian Open, and Wimbledon 2012. He was also beaten by Djokovic in the 2011 Australian Open final.
