Biography

Drew McDonald graduated from Stanford, where he led the Cardinal to their first NCAA title in 1976. McDonald was named All-American in 1975 and 1976. He played on the US national team from 1977-84, making the ill-fated 1980 US Olympic team, and winning gold medals at the 1979 and 1983 Pan American Games. McDonald married Stanford and Olympic swimmer Kim Peyton, although they later divorced. He is a member of the USA Water Polo Hall of Fame and the Stanford Athletic Hall of Fame.
