Andrey Bobrov was the first to lead the Adelskalender – the all-time allround ranking – with a points total under 160.000 when he climbed to the top of the Adelskalender on 28 December 1983 with 159.894 (38.0/1:53.22/6:58.89/14:05.91). He remained number one on the Adelskalender for approximately three months, until Viktor Shasherin passed him on 23 March 1984. Bobrov was World Junior Champion in 1983, but had no success in international championships as a senior, appearing in the European Championships twice, with 10th place his best result.
